Ivy Tech faculty produces face shields

Design Technology Program at Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette have joined Ivy Tech campuses across the state to produce components for face shields for front line essential healthcare workers. Faculty members have been busy using 3D printers to make 1,870 face shields as part of 10,490 shields made statewide as of April 29. Eleven Ivy Tech campuses are producing shields that are being sent to Indiana hospitals, nursing homes, fire departments, medical clinics and health departments with a central distribution center at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Lafayette campus leads the way in the total number of shields made. Faculty members who are producing the shields are Josh Nelson (Design Technology Program chair), HaeJi Kwon, Matt Musick, Bill Murray and Glen Roberson.
