The Carroll Consolidated School Corp. has a new leader who is trying on his superintendent shoes for the first time.
But Keith Thackery calls his job in the district “the right fit.”
“After interviewing with Carroll and meeting many people within the schools and the community, it quickly became obvious that this is the school corporation where I was meant to be,” he wrote in an email answering questions about his plans, philosophy and experience. People at Carroll are truly genuine and care about the education of their children. On a personal note and as a man of faith, I believe God places me where I need to be at the time I need to be there. I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and working closely with the Carroll community to provide the best educational opportunities for our children.”
Thackery has signed a three-year contract and will be paid $102,000 annually. He attended board meetings in November and December, and then spent a few days working with previous superintendent John Sayres at the end of the year. He took office Jan. 2.
