DEMOTTE — New Leaf Resources, a Christian counseling center, will soon have a new facility in DeMotte on 1100 North, east of US 231, near Sandy Pines Golf Club. New Leaf Resources is a non-profit Christian counseling center with offices in Lansing, Crown Point and Wheatfield. The new office will include three counseling offices and a large meeting room.

New Leaf rented a small office space in Wheatfield after recognizing the need for mental health services in the area and opened for counseling in 2012. “Because there are limited mental health resources in Jasper County, residents had to drive to towns such as Crown Point, Merrillville or Lafayette for counseling,” New Leaf Resources Executive Director Terry Top said. “Now, with so many residents seeking care, we have outgrown our current space and are ready to put down stakes and have a permanent home near DeMotte.
