A DeMotte man, Frederick G. Richart, 60, who had been missing since about midnight Sunday night was found dead Tuesday at 10:04 a.m. just a few hundred feet from his home near Daisy Circle.
DeMotte Police Chief Tom Jarrette said, "We don't believe there's any foul play, but there will be an autopsy performed tomorrow (Wednesday)."
Police began a search for a missing person, Monday night. According to police, a neighbor had seen Richart speaking to an unknown male at about midnight Sunday. Richart was said to have a medical condition. Family members who had spoken to Richart earlier in the day Sunday had said he seemed paranoid or afraid, which may have been related to his medical condition.
