Van fire

This van, owned by Carol Whitson went up in flames in downtown Watseka on Wednesday, after overheating.

 A local family escaped their van before it was engulfed in flames early Wednesday evening in downtown Watseka. 

Carol Whitson, the owner of the vehicle, and her daughter Wanda Hurst were stopped in traffic on Walnut Street when they realized that the van that Hurst was driving was overheating. They were waiting in a line of traffic behind the rail crossing guard arms which were lowered, although there was no train present.
