Each year the American Legion Auxiliary Post 52 of Attica sponsors delegates to the Hoosier Girls State and Hoosier Boys State.

This year the American Legion Auxiliary Post 52 of Attica is sponsoring two outstanding young ladies to serve as delegates at Hoosier Girls State.

American Legion Auxiliary Post 52 in Attica is pleased to announce delegates Mallory Galloway and Courtney Miller, both students at Attica High School.

Galloway is the daughter of Andy Galloway, Covington, and Lori and Greer Jordan of Attica. She is an American Legion Auxiliary Post 52 Junior Member. She is also a nine-year member of the Rowdy Ramblers 4-H club.

Miller is the daughter of Seth and Tara Miller of Attica. She is involved in varsity golf, swim team and softball, as well as Rambler Rowdies, student council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Hoosier Girls State will take place June 23-29 at Trine University in Angola.

American Legion Post 52 of Attica is sponsoring three young men to serve as delegates at Hoosier Boys State. Post 52 is pleased to announce 2019 delegates Jordan Hodge, Aiden Pierce and Will Mandeville. These three young men are students and classmates at Attica High School. Hodge is the son of Jay and Barb Hodge. Pierce is the son of Matt and Laurie Pierce. Mandeville is the son of Kyle and Jill Mandeville.

Hoosier Boys State will take place at June 16-21 at Trine University in Angola.

A qualifying candidate must be a legal inhabitant of the United States, have completed their junior year in high school with at least one more semester remaining before graduation, be keenly interested in government and current events, have high moral character, show strong leadership abilities, and demonstrate above-average scholastic achievement.

Hoosier Girls State and Hoosier Boys State is a unique and exciting government-in-action learning program in which American Legion Auxiliary members guide young people to become knowledgeable stewards of freedom, democracy and patriotic citizens. It is a program designed to educate young people of Indiana in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship. It is a week of living and learning the political system of Indiana through a mythical city, county and state.
