Remington Farms Presentation

Doctor Christ Hurt speaks to agriculture workers from Indiana and beyond in Remington Farms, for the 2016 Purdue Farm Management Tour.

The 84th Annual Purdue Farm Management Tour took place throughout Newton and Jasper Counties this week. The concluding event took place at Remington Farms on Friday. It included a panel discussion from three Purdue University faculty members, who are also part of the campus’ Center for Commercial Agriculture. The main topic was the influence that recent political and economic events may have on agriculture prices for ordinary farmers in and beyond Northwest Indiana. It ended up being, largely, a call to avoid strong reactions in favor of common sense and remembering that the weather has the most immediate influence on local crop prices. Attendance for the event was high and included a wide age range, from young adults to senior citizens.
