RENSSELAER — The Rensselaer Summer Swim Team, fresh off another Prairie State Swim League title and an unbeaten season against PSSL foes, celebrated team members with special awards during a picnic last week at Brookside Park.
Over 30 kids in 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15 and up age divisions were presented special plaques for high points, most improved, best mental attitude and MVP. High points overall and runner-up high points awards were also presented by RSST coaches.
This year’s swim team also shattered nine RSST marks and those swimmers were recognized as well.
It was the sixth straight PSSL championship for RSST, which benefited from a strong group of first-year, second-year and third-year swimmers. The meet was held at Crawfordsville’s Olympic-sized pool.
