RENSSELAER — Franciscan Health Rensselaer is hosting a free healthy pregnancies presentation Aug. 28.
Dr. Gracie Michels, OB/GYN with Franciscan Physician Network, will present the importance of prenatal care. The event will be 6-7:30 p.m. Central Time in the Rensselaer Library, 208 W. Susan St.
Michels' presentation will cover many areas of pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post-partum health. This includes the need for a health checkup, improved diet and exercise routines, better sleeping habits and more.
Often, women focus on their health after becoming pregnant but working to be in good health before pregnancy can be extremely beneficial for mother and baby, Dr. Michels said.
In addition to Michels, there will be a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) available to answer questions. Lactation consultation appointments are available at Franciscan Health Rensselaer by calling 765-449-5133.
At the event there will be appetizers, desserts and free gifts.
Seating is limited and registration is required. To register, call 219-866-2004.
