In the late evening hours of Friday, July 5, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence several miles south of Wheatfield.
Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and spoke with a witness, who said that she heard yelling coming from inside the residence while she was outside. When the witness peered through the window, she allegedly saw the victim picking up items with Michael Clark,33, of Wheatfield standing over her. The victim told the authorities that the incident between her and Clark had turned physical when Clark pushed her. Two children were also in the residence while this behavior was taking place.
While deputies spoke with the witness, Clark allegedly continued to yell after being warned to stop, to the point that neighbors came out to see what was going on.
Clark was taken into custody, transported to the Jasper County Detention Center and incarcerated for charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, a level 6 felony, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
