JASPER COUNTY — In the evening hours of June 7, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of State Rd. 10 and Deer Field Lane. The driver was identified as Brandon Harrison, 34, who currently has no permanent address. His passenger was identified as Morgan Wheelock, 25, who also has no current permanent address.

While the deputy was speaking with the pair, he noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Harrison’s driving record was checked, and it returned as having a prior suspension. Harrison was taken into custody for the this. A search of Harrison’s vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, clear plastic baggies containing a crystal-like substance that later field tested positive as methamphetamine, a clear plastic baggy containing a green leafy substance that later field-tested positive as marijuana and several other drug related items.

Inside a purse that Wheelock had retrieved her driver’s license from was a cut plastic straw with white powder residue.

Harrison and Wheelock were both arrested and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for the following charges:

Harrison was arrested for dealing in methamphetamine, a level 5 felony, possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, driving while suspended prior, class A misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.

Wheelock was arrested for possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
