Rensselaer Police recently acted on an arrest warrant for a prior methamphetamine case, resulting in one arrest.

On Wednesday, July 11, the RPD learned that Richard Lockard, 42, was at a residence in the 500 block of East Washington Street. Lockard had an outstanding warrant for a past Methamphetamine case. Officers recently went to the residence in an attempt to locate him.

After several minutes at the residence, officers received an answer at the door and were allowed inside. Lockard was then found hiding in an upstairs bathtub and was secured in handcuffs. After being secured, Lockard began to resist officers, reportedly injuring one of them.

Lockard was then transported to the Jasper County Jail on the warrant. An additional charge of resisting law enforcement was added as well. This charge is a level 6 felony, since it resulted in injury to an officer.
