North Newton knocked off Whiting, Calumet, and Hammond Gavit to finish third in the Griffith Tournament Saturday. The Lady Spartans’ lone loss came against Calumet Christian.

North Newton defeated Whiting 25-21, 22-25, 16-14 in the first game. Team leaders included:

Hitting: Jamie Will — 17/19 and 6 kills, Sara Will — 10/11 and 5 kills, Danielle Watkins and Keely Evans both 8/9 with 5 kills each.
