Friends of the Sands raise more than $2,000 with plant sale

The Friends of the Sands partnered with the Newton County Public Library to hold its annual native plant sale, but the sale proceeded a bit differently because of Covid-19. Rather than folks mingling to pick out plants on Mother’s Day weekend, this year they accepted orders that were turned in at the library with the pick-up of the plants on Father’s Day weekend. The sale was very successful and raised $2,007, the most Friends of the Sands has ever raised from a plant sale. This money will go to Newton County Community Services to help those in need in the county.
