JASPER COUNTY — A Goodland man who allegedly sold stolen items through an online site was arrested on Feb. 21 by Jasper County Sheriff’s Department deputies.
Stephen E. Workman Jr., 35, was arrested for burglary of a dwelling, a Level 4 felony; theft, a Level 6 felony; and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to police, the charges stem from a investigation into a burglary of a residence located 3 1/2 miles southeast of Rensselaer on Dec. 17.
The victims said they saw some of the items that were once in their possession being sold online by an individual who identified himself as “Stephen W.” from Remington. It was later determined to be Workman.
A warrant for Workman’s arrest was issued by the Jasper County Superior Court on Jan. 13 and Workman was arrested a few weeks later and placed in the Jasper County Detention Center.

JASPER COUNTY — Jasper County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a 52-year-old DeMotte woman for domestic battery on Feb. 19.
Amy J. Kiser was charged when police responded to an incident last week at a residence located 2 1/4 miles southeast of DeMotte.
Upon investigation, police discovered that Kiser allegedly scratched a man’s face, pushed him to the floor and then proceeded to kick him. The victim had injuries consistent with those allegations, police said.
Kiser was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Domestic battery carries a Class A misdemeanor charge.
