Arrest made in Morocco shooting

A Lowell man is facing a charge of reckless homicide following a fatal weekend incident in Morocco.

Frank Klotz, 57, is currently being held at the Newton County Jail in connection with the shooting death of Dakoyta Corning, 21, also of Lowell. The incident took place at the Invaders Motorcycle Club at 102 N. Polk Street, Morocco, at approximately 8:24 p.m., on Jan. 27. Corning was transported by Newton County EMS to Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois, where he was pronounced dead.

On Jan. 29, 2018 an interview was conducted at the Newton County Jail by the Morocco Police Department and investigators from Newton County Sheriff’s Department, which provided information leading t the arrest, according to information provided by the Morocco Police Department.

This case is still currently under investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available.   Morocco Police were assisted during the incident by Newton County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Brook Police, Kentland Police, Goodland Police, Morocco Fire Department and Newton County EMS.
