MONTICELLO — Monticello’s new food delivery service, Grub Grabber, started operations last month by teaming up with local restaurants to provide delivery services to customers.
The company is growing quickly, President Drew Sandora said. It is already expanding and offering food from restaurants such as The Scoreboard, Kopacetic Beer Factory and Riverside Pub.
Sandora runs operational services, as well as hiring and training restaurant personnel on tablets used to make each delivery.
“The business will evolve and change rapidly,” he stated in a press release. “The best way to keep updated is by watching our Facebook page.”
All partner restaurants will be listed on the Facebook site where customers can easily locate and call for delivery.
An important part of the company, according to Sandora, is the flat rate each restaurant pays to partner with Grub Grabber. Unlike Grubhub and other delivery services, restaurants will not lose money if no delivery orders are placed on any given night, he said.
“When we do expand, we hope to target smaller towns that often lack these delivery services from larger companies,” he said.
Monticello is the first city that Grub Grabber is offered; however, they are already looking to expand.
Oakdale Bar & Grill will launch June 12, and deliveries can be placed from customers in both Monticello and Delphi. Due to Oakdale’s location between both cities, Sandora arranged for drivers to be available for orders from both locations.
“People are showing excitement on Facebook,” he said. “We have people commenting on restaurants they want to see and asking if we are hiring drivers.”
More drivers will be hired as the company expands its restaurant partnerships. These updates can also be found on the Grub Grabber Facebook page.
The Greater Monticello Chamber of Commerce plans a ribbon cutting for Grub Grabber at 4 p.m. June 18 as part of a Business After Hours event at Kopacetic and Scoreboard.
