Six members from the Frontier FFA Chapter attended the National Convention in Kansas City, Mo. Members attending were Brent Blume, Jeff Altman, Josh Perkins, Daniel Bol, Doug Nelson and Ryan Toby. The Frontier FFA also participated in the nine-county area Judging Contest. Frontier’s first team of Scott King, Scott O’Connor, Josh Kenyon, and Josh Perkins placed 3rd overall. Frontier’s second team of Seth Owens, Ryan Toby, Nate McKenzie, and Jason Weidenburner placed sixth. Scott King placed third high individual out of 48 contestants. Josh Kenyon placed 10th high.


Phillip Boze, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Boze, of Route #5, Monticello, recently won the Handball Championship at Bowling Green University, Ohio, where he is a senior in intra-mural competition. He defeated his opponents in each tournament and was awarded a handsome trophy. His name was placed on a plaque and will be displayed in the Athletic Building. Boze is majoring in physical education and coaching. A graduate of Twin Lakes High School, he received the Jaycees trophies for outstanding athlete in baseball and basketball. Boze was also active in cross-country.
