On December 3, 2017, at approximately 2:11 PM, White County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon McLeland responded to a reported residential burglary in the 3400 block of Stahl Road, Monticello. The preliminary investigation indicated a stolen golf cart had been ran into a garage at that location. Also located nearby were two abandon bicycles believed to be stolen.
While investigating this complaint, another residence in the 5300 block of Stahl Road was discovered broken into. The preliminary investigation indicates a door was forced open and entry made into the residence. It was determined one of the two bicycles recovered belonged to this resident.
During the investigation, information was developed of two male juvenile subjects living in the neighborhood that may be involved in this criminal activity. Deputy McLeland located one of the juvenile subject's and recovered two stolen shotguns from his residence. The shotguns and some alcohol had been stolen from a residence in the 5300 block of Stahl Road.
The second juvenile was later questioned about these break-ins. During the interview with the second juvenile it was discovered two other residences had been burglarized in the 3000 block of Stahl Road. Property taken consisted of assorted change, alcohol and a bicycle.
The case information has been forwarded to the White County Juvenile Probation Department for review and any further action.
