On Sunday afternoon, the Mini 4H members learned how to show livestock in the Jasper County Fair Show Arena with the help of current and former 4H members, who answered the younger children's questions and helped them set the animals up for judging.
The 4H members who show cats and dogs came to the fairgrounds on Friday, July 13, before the official start of the fair to show their animals and receive their ribbons and awards. Meanwhile, workers and fair association members made last minute preparations for opening day.

The Annual Touch of Dutch Festival is the second Saturday of August each year, and for the last two years, has started on Friday evening with games, free entertainment and a beer garden. Parking and admission is free and takes place in Spencer Park in DeMotte, Indiana.
The giant U.S. flag was raised above the street before the Touch of Dutch Parade by firefighters from Rensselaer, Wheatfield and Keener Township in honor of military veterans. The theme of the annual festival this year was "The Touch of Dutch Salutes You in Red, White and Blue."
