Wheatfield resident Glen Sharp was fatally injured Sunday afternoon when his vehicle was hit by a semi after losing control on the snowy highway.

Jasper County — Yesterday at approximately 1 p.m., preliminary investigation by Trooper Kurtis Jones revealed a 2008 GMC Sierra was south bound on I-65 at the 225.5 mile marker (this is approximately 4 ½ miles south of the DeMotte exit) in the right lane, and driven by Glen A. Sharp, 62, of Wheatfield, when he lost control on the snow covered roadway. A 2019 Freightliner pulling a tanker, owned by Genox Transportation Inc. out of Deer Park, Texas, and driven by Corey L. Williams, 37, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was also in the right lane when Sharp lost control. Williams could not avoid Sharp’s vehicle and struck the GMC. Sharp was trapped inside the GMC and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jasper County Coroner’s Office. Williams was not injured.

Family was notified.
