U.S. 231 to close for repairs

PORTER and JASPER COUNTIES – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that U.S. 231 will close Tuesday in Porter and Jasper counties for concrete patching ahead of a resurfacing project between Hebron and DeMotte.

The road will close in two sections. First, the north section will close between the southern limits of Hebron (Costin Street) and the Kankakee River. Then, the south section will close between the Kankakee River and the northern limits of DeMotte (15th Avenue NW).

Patching work is expected to wrap up by mid-June.

State road detours must be on state-maintained roads only. Southbound drivers on U.S. 231 will detour south on I-65 and east on State Road 10 (which becomes State Road 110) back to U.S. 231. Northbound drivers on U.S. 231 will detour west on SR 110 (which becomes SR 10) and then north on I-65 back to U.S. 231.
