DeMOTTE — On June 9, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence approximately 2 miles northeast of DeMotte in reference to a domestic disturbance.
The deputies met with the alleged female victim who advised that over the past few weeks Christopher L. Wright, 40, of DeMotte, had been getting mean and that they had been arguing all day. The victim advised that Wright had made himself something to eat and instead of eating, he threw the plate and its contents at her. The plate hit the table and shattered with a piece of the plate grazing the side of her neck.
The victim told officers that Wright then pushed the table at her pinning her against the wall. She eventually removed herself from the situation, at which time, she reported, Wright said he would kill her if she called the police. The victim further alleged that during the altercation, Wright had grabbed her shoulders and neck.
Deputies checked the victim and residence for physical evidence, the physical evidence matched that of the victims account of what had occurred.
Wright was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for the following charges:
• Domestic Battery (Level 5 Felony)
