Watseka’s Little League Invitational tournament has been underway this week and all teams involved hoping to advance to the championship game.
Watseka’s Jay Morris Construction Bronco team defeated the Herscher All-Stars on Wednesday night during their face-off at the Watseka Little League Invitational tournament in Watseka. The final score was 8-2.
Starting on the mound was James Newell who took home the win for Jay Morris Construction.
Offensively, Aidan Morris was 4-4 at the plate with three RBI’s. Mason Galyen was also 4-4 while Lathan Westerfield-Bowling was 3-3 with three RBI’s and a home run. James Newell was 2-3.
The Watseka Bronco All-Stars also advanced, taking victory over Milford/Sheldon with a score of 8-7.
In the Mustang division, Iroquois West were able to beat out Watseka’s Mustang All-Stars with a final score of 13-7.
Pitching for Watseka was Zach Gunther and Andrew Shoemaker.
The invitational will conclude this weekend with the championship game being played on Sunday night at Peters Park in Watseka.
