  What does one do with a competitive drive but a torn anterior cruciate ligament have left to do but to get into coaching.

   That’s what the new Central High School boys basketball coach did, although there was some time in between.

   Tim Riekin graduated from Kankakee Bishop McNamara in 1982 and went to Kankakee Community College but a torn ACL kept him from playing. 

   “I was done playing basketball and it was tough to give that up being the competitor that I am, so it was great to be able to get into coaching,” he said.
