Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Kameron Blank, 26, Watseka, July 2. According to police reports Blank was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle. Blank was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he posted the required bond and was released.

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Derek Kaufman, 26, Watseka, July 2. According to police reports Kaufman was charged with having no valid driver’s license. Kaufman was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Timmy Deaton, 37, Milford, July 2. According to police reports Deaton was wanted on an outstanding Iroquois County warrant charging him with retail theft. Deaton was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

Watseka Police assisted the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department regarding suspicious vehicle in the 1100 block of East Walnut at 9:21 a.m. July 2.

Watseka Police responded to a report of a found hypodermic needle in the 200 block of West Oak at 9:45 a.m. July 2.

Watseka Police investigated a hit and run accident in the 600 block of East Walnut at 2 p.m. July 2. According to police reports a vehicle owned by Steven Gossett, 56, Woodland, was parked in a parking lot, and when Gossett came back to his vehicle he observed it had been struck by an unknown vehicle. Damage was estimated at more than $1,500.

Watseka Police investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 100 block of East Cherry at 3:29 p.m. July 2. According to police reports a vehicle driven by William R. Cooper, 83, Sheldon, was stopped at a stop sign. A vehicle driven by Shane C. Huizenga, 23, Watseka, had also stopped at a stop sign. Both Cooper and Huizenga then proceeded through the intersection at the same time, causing the accident. Damage was estimated at more than $1,500. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
