There are grain haulers who aren’t following road postings signs.

Iroquois County Highway Engineer Joel Moore said he’s gotten calls this fall, several from elevators, letting him know. One example given was of a load of 120,000 pounds on an 80,000 pound road originating in Lovejoy Township.

“This is an ongoing issue. It seems to grow each year,” said county board transportation and highway committee chairman Russell Bills.

Winter is coming and Moore told the committee of the snow plowing agreements between the county and the townships.
