If an athlete can go from a small high school in Illinois to a Division I program, she must have a lot of talent, discipline, potential, skill and ability.
Katie Kidwell has all of that and more. The Watseka graduate has seen significant playing time at Bowling Green State University for the volleyball team this season as a freshman.
“I believe D1 college volleyball has been an adjustment for Katie, but she is settling in and being successful at that level,” said Krista Pufahl, her high school coach. “I ooze pride in Katie. I am so proud of her for working extremely hard and finding her way into the lineup.”
Kidwell is 65th in the nation at blocks per set with 1.21 per set.
“It has been really exciting to be playing at such a high level along with teammates who have pushed me and helped me along the way,” Kidwell said.
