The girls basketball season got under way Monday. Locally it started with the Cissna Park Timberwolf Tip-Off Classic.
The Lady Timberwolves got a hot start, scoring 14 points in the opening quarter of a 31-18 win over Armstrong-Potomac. The also scored 12 points in the third quarter, but only two in the second and just three in the fourth.
“The first and third quarters we played all right but the second and fourth, I don’t know,” Cissna Park coach Anthony Videka said. “I think it’s our conditioning more than anything. With the success we had in volleyball, we didn’t really get the conditioning and practices that we needed.”
