Letter To The Editor:
It’s never too late to say “Thank You” for the moving Memorial Day honors at Floral Hill Cemetery.
The weather was perfect, the attendance large, the music spectacular, the Pastor moving and the speaker very informative.
Then what a delight it was to be invited to the VFW for a free lunch which turned out to be fantastic as we wound down our celebration.
Our community is very fortunate to have individuals and organizations who devote their time to preparing and participating in these events. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend the Veteran’s Day celebration and next year’s Memorial Day event. Just imagine, there could come a day that we do not have the privilege of attending such events, so we must make the most of them while we can.
Thank you to all who made the remembrance of our fallen comrades a very special day for all to enjoy.

Our John Greer Class of 1953 suffered a double loss recently with the deaths of Larry Oyler and Delores Dilley Cox within days of each other.
Both spent their lives in Hoopeston, contributing to their families, churches, and organizations in many ways. Always a cheery optimist, Delores was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Larry tirelessly gave his leadership qualities to the local business community and civic organizations.
We pause to pay tribute to these two special classmates who helped make Hoopeston a better place to live.
