The Vermilion County Conservation District’s Bunker Hill Historic Area will host the “Cheeseburgers and Fun” event at Kennekuk County Park, northwest of Danville Aug. 10.
Admission is free for the entire family, but donations will be accepted. The event includes great entertainment with “Lady Luck” from 4-6 p.m. and the ever popular “Captain Rat and the Blind Rivets” from 7-9 p.m.
The Kennekuk Road Runners are hosting the Howl at the Moon 8-hour Run/Walk beginning at 7 a.m. The buildings at the Bunker Hill Historic area will be open from 1-4 p.m.
Bring your own lawn chairs, and even though no alcohol is served at the event, coolers are permitted.
The Vermilion County Conservation District Foundation is hosting a Cheeseburger Cookout during the event beginning at 3 p.m. offering a hot, juicy grilled cheeseburger with chips and soda for just $6 while they last. The money raised from the Cheeseburger Cookout will go toward the Kickapoo Rail Trail. A variety of food and soft drinks will be available as well from vendors beginning at noon. Coolers will be allowed in the entertainment area.
A new Cruise-In car show will be presented from noon-9 p.m. Cars, trucks, and tractors welcome. Antique, Classic, Custom, Rat Rod, and Specialty. The Car and Tractor show runs from noon–9 p.m. There are no entry fees for the participants and there will be no judging of vehicles. It’s just a fun event for owners to show their vehicles to other car and antique tractor fans, so anyone owning a vehicle for the show is welcome.
The Vermilion Vole Vintage Baseball Jamboree vintage baseball games begin at noon.
