The Veedersburg Revitalization Association (VRA) invites area residents to come to Veedersburg, Indiana, for a variety of community events celebrating the Christmas season throughout the day on Saturday, December 7, 2013. A Holiday Shoppe will feature locally made art, crafts, apparel, baked goods and candy from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Hub Civic Center located at Newlin and 3rd streets. From 9:00a.m. until 12:00 Psi Iota Xi will sponsor a Santa House at the Southeast Fountain Grade School to provide young children an opportunity meet with Santa and do a little shopping. Tri Kappa will sponsor A Baby Contest for the littlest ones from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 at the Fire Station.


Then starting at 1:00 from Main and 7th a parade with the theme, “A Merry Christmas to All”, will wind its way through town to finish at the Fire Station on Main Street. Following the parade, children can get their photo taken with Santa as sponsored by Fountain Trust Company and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies from the Veedersburg Fire Department. Contests winners will be announced for various parade entries as well as the best decorated home, business and/or church. Additionally, local area businesses will be holding open houses at various times throughout the weekend to include: Shady Rail Farm, Veedersburg Florist and Richey’s Antiques and Refinishing Shop.  


Information for those interested in becoming a vendor at the Holiday Shoppe, participating in the parade, or entering the decorating contest to decorate their home, business and/or church in Veedersburg should pick up a registration form at the Veedersburg Public Library, Downs TV and Appliance or contact Donna Burgner at the information listed below. All forms must be submitted by no later than December 4th. VRA is a proud member of the Indiana Main Street program and is sponsoring the Holiday Shoppe, parade and promoting the other local events.
